  • A: Donate Your Own Device (DYOD) aims to collect old and used devices from individuals and organizations to support educating students in communities in need.

  • A: Your old device – whether it's a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, damaged or working – can make a significant impact by enabling access to educational resources for students who lack the necessary technology.

  • A: We accept all kinds of devices smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers, in working condition or damaged. Accessories like chargers and cables are also welcome.

  • A: You can donate your old devices at Emirates Red Crescent centers listed on the Donate Your Own Device (DYOD) website, or if you are an entity you can use the link below to register your interest and make a pledge of donation.

  • A: There is no minimum requirement. Every single device counts and brings us closer to our goal of 10,000 devices.

  • A: Yes, we accept devices with issues or cosmetic damage.

  • A: Once collected, the devices undergo refurbishment if needed, and any necessary repairs are made. They are then distributed to schools and students in underprivileged communities.

  • A: Rest assured, we have a secure data wiping process in place in collaboration with our partners at EcycleX. All donated devices undergo a thorough data erasure procedure before being distributed to students.

  • A: Unfortunately, at this time, we are only able to collect donations locally. However, you can contribute monetarily using the Emirates Red Crescent donation channels (click here)

  • A: All kinds of support are much appreciated! We accept monetary donations which you can submit via the secure link below, and remember to spread the word!

  • A: Our students live in underserved communities with little to no access to the digital world. Your device will end up in the hands of a student in one of our 7 locations (Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Colombia) and bridge that digital divide.

  • A: The Digital School has a comprehensive measuring and analysis system that captures the impact of providing digital education with digital tools in all our programs. For DYOD, we have a device counter for all collected devices, and will be updating you via social media with stories of impact from the campaign so make sure to follow us on our platforms!

  • A: You can help by sharing campaign information on social media, telling your friends and family, and reaching out to local businesses and community groups to raise awareness about the initiative.

  • ج: يعيش طلابنا في مجتمعات محتاجة والتي تفتقر إلى الوصول إلى العالم الرقمي. سيكون جهازك في أيدي أحد هؤلاء الطلاب في إحدى مواقعنا السبع (الأردن، لبنان، مصر، العراق، موريتانيا، بنغلاديش، كولومبيا) وسيسهم ذلك في تقليص الفجوة الرقمية
